Analytics stay off until your browser privacy settings and stored preference can be checked.
This choice is saved in this browser’s local storage, not a cookie. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control always turn analytics off and override the button. If local storage is unavailable, analytics stay off. Disabling takes effect immediately for future requests; it cannot recall requests already sent.
What is measured
This site uses a private Umami installation for cookieless analytics: page views, article scroll depth, time spent with an article visible, reaching the article’s end, outbound-link clicks and clicks on the capability-profile PDF and Rivet paper. PDF events count link clicks, not completed downloads or reads.
Page addresses contain only the path, with all query parameters and fragments removed. Referrers contain only the origin (scheme and host), not the page, query or fragment. Outbound clicks record only the destination host. Events use a fixed set of names and properties. No copied text, session replay, cookies or persistent personal identifiers are collected by this analytics client.
Anonymous visitor and session counts are estimates, not identified people. AI attribution uses only an actual assistant referrer or a finite allowlist of assistant names in the incoming utm_source parameter; the raw parameter is never retained. Without either, a missing referrer is Direct/Unknown. Crawler user agents are not evidence of an AI referral.
Access and retention
The analytics dashboard is private. A daily cleanup deletes events older than 90 days. Anonymous session metadata stays only while retained events need it. Rotating backups may retain older copies for up to 7 additional days under the normal daily schedule; failed cleanup jobs need operator attention. Retention is applied after restoration before the data is used. Your browser preference remains on this device until you change it or clear local storage. This control stops analytics in this browser; it does not delete records already collected.
